As a result of a Texas County Sheriff’s Department investigation, a Texas County man faces a felony charge for failure to register as a sex offender.
Matthew F. Doyle, 42, of 15543 Mockingbird Lane at Elk Creek, is charged with the offense.
According to a deputy’s report, the officer was investigating a theft at a woman’s house in the Elk Creek area, and the woman said Doyle was the culprit and was staying at another woman’s residence in Lennox. The deputy was reportedly familiar with Doyle from previous contact and knew he was a past sex offender.
After further investigation, Doyle was apprehended at the woman’s home in Lennox and taken to the Texas County Jail.
The deputy noted in his report that Doyle had previously been convicted of numerous felonies, including arson, burglary and failure to register as a sex offender. His bond is set at $200,000.
