A campaign to collect jeans is under way at the Houston School District with hopes to help homeless shelters.

Members of the Community Betterment and Arts Council of Houston and its youth organization are participating in the “Teens for Jeans” drive. Persons are asked to donate gently used jeans. They can be dropped off at any school district office.

The drive runs through Wednesday, Feb. 26.

The jeans collected will be used at homeless shelters in the area. The goal locally is 500 pairs. About half has been collected.
