Closings, other information from Texas County

Here’s the latest information about the coronavirus and Texas County:

•Drury University told students this evening that classes will not resume in person this semester. Classes will continue online. Drury has a branch in Houston.

•Texas County Memorial Hospital put out the call today for donations of supplies, “In response to the personal protective equipment (PPE) shortages across the state of Missouri and the country due to COVID-19, if you have any PPE supplies available that you would like to donate, Texas County Memorial Hospital would gladly accept them. Please contact Kelly Bell, TCMH purchasing director at 417-967-1300 or via e-mail at kelly.bell@tcmh.org.”

•Missouri’s Capitol building is shutting down for two weeks to try and combat the spread of the coronavirus, meaning there will be no legislative action under the dome until sometime after April 6.

Missouri State University’s Jordan Valley Innovation Center is prototyping personal protective equipment in partnership with CoxHealth.

•The food department at Texas County Food Pantry will be closed Tuesday, March 24, it announced Monday.

It will reopen Wednesday for food distribution.

Clients will not be allowed inside the building. Food will be distributed from the sidewalk. It is asked that persons stagger their time and not everyone come at 10 a.m.
