Vaccination efforts continue in southwest Missouri.

About 21.4 percent in Texas County are completely vaccinated for COVID-19, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported Saturday.

The state’s rate is  40.6 percent.

As of July 22 in Texas County, 6,489 residents have initiated vaccinations, and 5,435 have completed the two-dose process. In the last seven days, doses have been administered to 403 people. 

On Saturday, Texas County, Mo., stood between Hot Spring, Ark. and Miami-Date, Fla., with the most cases per 100,000.

Doses are available at Walgreens in downtown Houston, Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri Ozarks Community Health in Houston, Cabool and Licking, Houston Walmart Supercenter and Texas County Health Department in Houston.

Vaccines given

In the seven days ending July 22, there have been 403 vaccinations given in Texas County, officials said.

Here are the completed vaccination rates for counties in south-central Missouri through Sunday, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services: Texas, 21.4 percent; Phelps, 31.6; Dent, 20.3; Shannon, 19.1; Howell, 19.6; Douglas, 16; Wright, 23.1; Laclede, 24.6; and Pulaski, 12.5.

Here is the percentage of residents who have initiated the process: Texas, 25.5 percent; Phelps, 35.9; Dent, 23.6; Shannon, 23.3; Howell, 25.7; Douglas, 20.1; Wright, 28.6; Laclede, 30.2; and Pulaski, 15.6.
