Firefighters from two departments were called at about 11:40 a.m. to a report of a fire at the Raymondville School.

One person was burning some items outside and the fire spread. It was extinguished by a garden hose. There is slight building damage.

The local department and the City of Houston fire department were initially dispatched to the rear of the building that is situated on Highway B.

School was not in session.
