About 30.5 percent of the population in the county is totally vaccinated, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

About 30.5 percent in Texas County are completely vaccinated for COVID-19, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported Saturday.

The state’s rate is 48.6 percent.

Through Oct. 14 in Texas County, 8,610 residents have initiated vaccinations, and 7,753 have completed the two-dose process.

In the last seven days, doses have been administered to 143. Doses are available at Walgreens in downtown Houston, Texas County Memorial Hospital clinics in the county, Missouri Ozarks Community Health in Houston and Cabool, Houston Walmart Supercenter and Texas County Health Department in Houston. Booster shots are available to those eligible at some locations in the county.

Here are the completed vaccination rates for counties in south-central Missouri, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services: Texas, 30.5 percent; Phelps, 38.4; Dent, 28.4; Shannon, 28; Howell, 30.8; Douglas, 21.2; Wright, 31.6; Laclede, 31.6; and Pulaski, 16.7.

Here is the percentage of residents who have initiated the process: Texas, 33.9 percent; Phelps, 42.4; Dent, 31.8; Shannon, 30.6; Howell, 35.7; Douglas, 25.2; Wright, 35.4; Laclede, 35.3; and Pulaski, 19.8.

Here is a look at vaccination rates among school children in the county : 318 (or 17 percent) have initiated vaccines in the 12-17 age group. Another 269 (or 14.4 percent) have completed it.
