The number of COVID-19 positive cases dropped during the last week in the county, the Texas County Health Department reported.
From Jan. 29-Feb. 4, there were 118 positive cases, it said. Part of the decline is likely attributed to a winter storm that struck in recent days that made testing difficult.
The previous week it was 248.
Texas County Memorial Hospital reported Monday that it currently had four COVID-19 patients — three had been vaccinated. They range in ages 59-87. There has been one death in the last week. The county’s positivity rate stands at 27.5 percent, which is down from last week’s 43 percent.
