Two departments called after smoke seen coming from home’s porch

Two county fire departments were called Friday afternoon to a report of smoke coming from the porch of a home.

The address is 8491 Highway 17, authorities said.

There had been some work done earlier in the basement, and the homeowner called to seek assistance, authorities said.
