Fires are continuing to pop up in the region this week.
The latest was early Wednesday afternoon when the Raymondville Fire Department was called to a grass and woods fire on Bee Rock Road.
Later, the Houston Rural Fire Department was called to a field fire at 7177 Highway Z west of Houston.
Other departments also have been busy: The Nebo-Falcon Fire Department sought mutual aid from Roby. At Licking, a controlled burn got out of hand on Highway BB.
