Dry, windy conditions sparked fires in the county on Wednesday afternoon.
A grass fire was reported at 8490 Kelly Road at Raymondville. It spread before consuming an outbuilding. In addition to Raymondville’s department, the Houston Rural Fire Department and Tyrone Fire Department were called.
Another grass fire was reported on Highway AH. Plato’s department was sought.
Earlier in the day, Houston firefighters responded to a fire on Dooley Street, which was dangerously close to homes.
