The National Weather Service said a Wind Chill Warning is in effect until 6 this evening, with a Wind Chill Advisory area-wide this evening into Saturday.

It said very rarely experienced cold wind chills (-20 to -35F) are expected Friday morning. Very cold wind chills (-10 to -20F) Friday evening into Saturday morning are expected.

It said bitterly cold temperatures and wind chills can cause an increased risk for frostbite and hypothermia.

If you must travel, make sure your destination is open today. Some businesses are closed. The Lone Star Farmers Market is closed Friday.
