Firefighters were called to the Ellis Prairie area, where a natural cover fire was underway at about 12:50 p.m. Thursday.
The affected area was near Highway AA and Emery Road, authorities said.
Houston and Roby were called to the scene. Raymondville was sought to assist, as well as the Missouri Department of Conservation.
