Hunters in Texas County have killed 556 turkeys for the spring firearms hunting season, according to figures from the Missouri Department of Conservation on Saturday.
Texas County ranks sixth in the state.
In Texas County, the breakdown shows 477 adult gobblers, 77 juvenile gobblers and 2 bearded hens.
Top counties in the state are Franklin (722), Osage (622), Callaway (606), Gasconade (568), Phelps (561), and Texas (556).
The season ends on May 7.
