A vehicle fire sent the Roby Fire Department to Highway M Tuesday morning after a report that it had spread to trees.
The Houston Rural Fire Department was called at about 10:50 a.m. to a grass and tree fire on Mineral Drive north of Houston. It was near vehicles and shop buildings at a business. A black column of smoke could be seen from downtown Houston.
Later, a wild fire was reported off North U.S. 63.
