Hunters in Texas County have killed 449 turkeys since the spring firearms hunting season that began Monday, April 17, according to figures from the Missouri Department of Conservation on Wednesday.
Texas County is ranked sixth in the state.
In Texas County, the breakdown shows 383 adult gobblers, 64 juvenile gobblers and 2 bearded hens.
Top counties in the state are Franklin (628), Callaway (534), Osage (529), Gasconade (496), Phelps (475), and Texas (386).
The season ends on May 7.
