Severe thunderstorms will be possible tonight in the region, the National Weather Service said Tuesday. Some areas may receive damaging wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour, it said.
The advisory comes as the area gears up for sweltering heat later in the week. Some heat index values may hit 105-110 degrees.
The National Weather Service said it has upgraded the severe weather changes for late Tuesday.
