The National Weather Service said a cold front will move south through the area this morning into this afternoon.
Showers and storms will continue to develop and move southeast across the region from early this morning into this afternoon. There will be the potential for few strong to severe storms across southern Missouri, it said.
Damaging straight line winds to 60 mph and quarter size hail will be the main risk. Locally heavy rain will also occur with the storms.
