A heat advisory has been issued from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday as heat index values are expected to range between 100-110 degrees, the National Weather Service said.
The area does not currently include Texas County, but areas to the west.
Additionally, strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible Wednesday evening through Thursday morning in southern Missouri.
The primary hazards include large hail, damaging wind gusts and localized heavy rainfall.
