An Edgar Springs woman was fatally injured in a one-vehicle crash Sunday morning north of Licking, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
Deeann M. Morris, 42, was driving her 2013 Volkswagen Jetta southbound on U.S. 63 four miles north of Licking when she ran off the right side of the road, impacted a guardrail, returned to the road, ran off the left side and impacted another guardrail. The vehicle then began overturning, ejecting her and coming to a rest in a steep ravine, patrol said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by Texas County Coroner Marie Lasater at 1:11 p.m.
She was not wearing a safety device. The vehicle was totaled.
This is Troop G’s 32nd fatality for 2023, compared to 28 at this time in 2022. Next of kin have been notified.
Investigating the accident was Tpr. J. L. Sentman. Assisting were Cpl. S. J. Crewse and Cpl. T. L. Brown.
