The National Weather Service said Texas County is under an Ice Storm Warning until mid-afternoon.

It says southeast of I-44 the glaze should be .1 – .3. Higher terrain south of I-44 may see localized .25-.4 icing, it reported.  The freezing rain is ending from west to east. It continues in the eastern Ozarks, it said in an afternoon briefing.

Locally, City of Houston crews began working at about 3:30 a.m. Monday to tackle streets. “We are so appreciative of all the hard work trying to keep up with this ice,” a city statement read.

Intercounty Electric Cooperative reported at 12:05 p.m. that 436 were without power in Dent County. Later, service was restored. No outages are listed in Texas County.
