The Houston Police Department handled investigations recently.

The following are excerpts from reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:

Between Jan. 29 and Feb. 4, the Houston Police Department answered 165 calls for service and initiated 49 traffic stops resulting in 18 citations and 43 warnings.

  • On Jan. 30, officers were dispatched to Walmart for a reported theft. After completing an investigation, Christine E. Hemme, 28, of Bucyrus, was cited per charge Stealing Under $750.
  • On Jan. 31, officers were dispatched to West Highway 17, near Augusta Street, for a motor vehicle crash. After completing their investigation, Darol Currey, 24, of Houston, was arrested and transported to the Texas County Jail. Currey was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender), Driving While Suspended, Failure to Provide Insurance and Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle.
  • On Jan. 31, officers were dispatched to Walmart for a theft that occurred on Jan. 17. An unidentified male switched the UPC tags on several items before checking out. The investigation is ongoing.
  • On Jan. 31, officers responded to Walmart for a male subject who had previously been trespassed from the business. The male was gone before the officer’s arrival. The male will be cited for Trespassing when located.
  • On Feb. 2, officers responded to the 200 block of S. Grand Avenue for a disturbance. Upon arrival, it was determined that a physical assault had taken place. Two victims were identified, and one was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Officers located the suspect nearby. Kolby Morgan, 23, of Houston, was arrested and charged with Assault 1st Degree Assault-Serious Physical Injury or Special Victim, Assault 2nd Degree and Possession of a Controlled Substance at County/Private Jail/Correction Center. He is being held in the Texas County Jail on a $20,000 cash bond.
