The Houston Police Department handled investigations recently.

The following are excerpts from reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:

Between Feb. 12 and Feb. 18, the Houston Police Department answered 154 calls for service and initiated 48 traffic stops resulting in 15 citations and 45 warnings.

  • On Feb. 12, officers responded to the intersection of U.S. 63 and Highway 17 for a motor vehicle crash. A 2011 Ford Fusion operated by a 16-year-old male collided with a 2023 Ford F-150 operated by Virginia Baker, 68, of Houston. Neither party sustained injuries.  The 16-year-old male was cited per charge Failed To Yield Right Of Way.
  • On Feb. 12, officers responded to the 100 block of N. Grand Avenue for a domestic disturbance. Officers arrested a 38-year-old Hartshorn man for possession of a controlled substance. A probable cause statement was sent to the Texas County Prosecutor for formal charges.
  • On Feb. 12, officers responded to the 1000 block of S. Sam Houston Boulevard for a domestic disturbance. Officers found a male and a female engaged in a verbal dispute.  Both parties were advised to separate for the evening.
  • On Feb. 12, officers responded to Texas County Memorial Hospital for a reported dog bite. Officers determined a family pet had bitten the male juvenile and the animal was currently on its vaccinations.
  • On Feb. 13, officers arrested Timothy R. Neal, 28, at the Missouri Probation and Parole Office on a Cabool Municipal warrant. Neal was unable to post the $445 cash-only bond.
  • On Feb. 16, officers responded to the intersection of U.S. 63 and Holder Drive for a motor vehicle crash. A 2012 Ford operated by Ivan R. Bertke, 43, of Fort Hood, Texas, collided with a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan operated by Sandra K. Murray, 62, of Raymondville. Bertke was cited per charge Following Too Closely.
  • On Feb. 18, officers arrested Jackson C. Morgan, 47, on a Texas County warrant per charge Delivery or Possession of a Controlled Substance at County/Private Jail/Correctional Center, Resisting Arrest and Peace Disturbance. Morgan was unable to post the $1,000 cash-only bond and was incarcerated in the Texas County Jail.
