Members of the Houston board of education handled several personnel matters during a regular closed session on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
The board:
- Accepted the resignations of Wendy Reese, payroll clerk, effective Feb. 29; Boulder McKinney, middle school head track coach, effective immediately; and Olivia Poynter, middle school science teacher, effective at the end of the 2023-24 school year.
- Approved the employment of Rory Davis, freshman/c team baseball coach; Josh Shelton, middle school track coach; Carla Randall, central office bookkeeper/payroll/human resources; Lacey Spivey, ECSE diagnostician/teacher; and Dustin Bell, high school social studies teacher.
- Extended Elementary Principal Jody Jarrett’s 11-month contract through the 2025-26 school year, Assistant Elementary Principal Jim Moore’s 10-month contract through the 2025-26 school year, Middle School Principal Tracy Hughes’ 11-month contract through the 2025-26 school year, High School Assistant Principal Eric Sloan’s 11-month contract through the 2025-26 school year, High School Principal Amanda Munson’s 11-month contract through the 2025-26 school year, Jennifer Johnson’s contract through the 2025-26 school year, Samantha Sellers’ contract through the 2025-26 school year and Stephanie Barbagiovanni’s contract through the 2025-26 school year. Munson’s contract extension was a 3-2-2 vote with Darren Ice and Dustin Hartman voting no and Tressie Neugebauer and Jeff Crites abstaining.
