A Texas County Sheriff’s Department deputy was injured Friday night when a driver intentionally struck a county patrol vehicle on a township road, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
Tpr. Nathan Poynter said a northbound 1992 Ford F-250 driven by Stanley W. Smith, 53, of Laquey, crossed the center line of Turley Road about five miles west of Success and struck a southbound 2023 Ford Explorer operated by Jeremy J. Wink, 24, of Houston. The incident occurred at 6:11 p.m.
Wink was taken by private vehicle to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston. He had minor injuries and was wearing a seat belt, Poynter said.
Smith fled the scene, and was the subject of a search.
