The National Weather Service said Friday there is an elevated to significant fire danger across portions of southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri this afternoon.

Texas County is under an elevated threat, it said.

Winds gusting up to 20-30 mph and relative humidity values of 25-30% will promote quick fire spread if one were to start, the National Weather Service said.
