Fatal crash

A man from Licking was killed Friday night in a one-vehicle accident about three miles north of Raymondville on Highway 137, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Msgt. Dale Pounds said a southbound 1995 Dodge Laramie driven by Michael W. Naylor, 50, failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the roadway, returned to the highway, went airborne, hit the right side of Highway 137, overturned and ejected the driver at about 9:30 p.m. Naylor was pronounced deceased at the scene by Texas County Coroner Marie Lasater. Next of kin has been notified, the patrol said.

It was the second fatality in Troop G for the year compared to four during the same period in 2023.

Assisting at the scene was Cpl. Travis Brown, Tpr. Justin Dedmon, the Raymondville Fire Department and Texas County’s Sheriff’s Department.
