A Houston man was involved in a Texas County accident Wednesday evening, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
David C. Simmons, 61, was driving his 2018 BMW K16 southbound on Highway 17 five miles north of Success when he struck a deer and was ejected from the vehicle, patrol said.
Simmons was taken by air ambulance to Cox South in Springfield with serious injuries.
Simmons was wearing a safety device. The vehicle suffered extensive damage.
Investigating the accident was Tpr. Nathan B. Poynter. Assisting at the scene was Cpl. Stacy J. Crewse and the Roby Fire Department.
