Sales tax revenue collected by Houston merchants during February was up compared to a year ago, according to the Missouri Department of Revenue.

A one-cent sales tax earmarked for parks, police and fire generated $72,272.18 for the month of February. That’s up $1,391.74 from the same period a year ago.

A one-cent general sales tax totaled $76,827.93. That’s an increase of $2,673.27 from the same period last year.

A quarter-cent sales tax for transportation needs totaled $18,092.40 in the month of February. That’s up $364.04 from the same period last year.

A quarter-cent sales tax for utility work totaled $18,092.39 for the month. That is an increase of $364.04 from the same period last year.

A use tax applied to out-of-state internet orders totals $13,284.77 for the month. That’s up $6,167.72 from the same period last year.
