A Summersville man was seriously injured Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Maries County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said a northbound 2024 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Samuel N. Berry, 25, of Summersville, failed to yield at an intersection and struck a southbound 2003 Freightliner operated by Billy J. Garrett, 48, of Doniphan. The accident occurred at 4:08 p.m. on U.S. 63 about four miles north of Vichy.
Garrett had minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Phelps Health in Rolla. A passenger in the car, Timothy J. Blanks, 21, had serious injuries and was transported to Phelps Health.
Troopers said the car was totaled; the truck had moderate damage and everyone was wearing a seat belt except Blanks.
