The National Weather Service said there will be an elevated to localized pocket of significant fire risk Sunday (March 24).

The minimum relative humidity values will be down to 25 to 35 percent and wind gusts will be up to 35-45 miles per hour in the region.

It notes fires can spread rapidly in these conditions. Outside burning is discouraged except by experienced fire personnel.

There was a fire east of Raymondville early Saturday morning.
