ATM burglaries are surfacing again in the state following a fall wave in south-central Missouri, authorities said.
Two ATMs were recently hit in Versailles and a third one at Greenview.
The criminals typically steal a truck to approach an ATM, using cheap tools, chains and the vehicle to quickly break apart all compartments of an ATM, take all the money and leave within two minutes. They abandon the vehicle and leave in another vehicle parked out-of-sight of any cameras at usually 2-4 a.m.
In September, two ATMS were hit at Salem and an attempt made on a third one. That month also saw a West Plains Bank ATM struck at Mountain View. In October, a case was reported at Rolla.
If you spot something, call 911 and do not approach the crime scene.
