The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
- On March 15, a deputy responded to the lobby of the Cabool Police Department regarding a report of an assault that had taken place at the Cabool VFW Hall on Holmes Road.
The deputy learned that a 55-year-old woman and a 41-year-old woman had been in a fight, with contact being made by closed fists and open hands. The altercation reportedly began when the younger woman was playing gambling machines at the facility and the older woman showed up and called the younger one a “druggy.”
The officer determined the two women had engaged in mutual combat and no report was sent to the county prosecutor.
- A deputy was dispatched April 5 regarding a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a Highway AB residence near Licking.
The officer made contact with a 29-year-old man there who had accidentally shot himself in the leg. He was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
