The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
- On April 10, a 37-year-old woman reported that she had returned from a trip and observed that the camper she lived in at a Country Aire Lane trailer park at Cabool was gone.
The woman told a deputy that she discovered the camper – a 2010 Jayflight – was now at a Bado Road residence at Cabool.
The deputy made contact with a man and woman there who live there and another man who had reportedly sold them the camper, who was the camper owner’s former boyfriend.
The camper owner produced a title to prove ownership, and the unit was returned that evening. But all of the woman’s belongings from inside the camper were gone, and the other three people refused to return them.
Investigation continues.
- A 16-year-old girl reported on April 10 that her 40-year-old mother’s vehicle had been stolen from her residence in Huggins.
The girl told an officer that she was making the report because her mother was in a mental facility at Lebanon. She said the vehicle (a 2014 Jeep Patriot valued at $9,837) had been swiped by a 40-year-old man who had driven it to a location in Texas.
The man was contacted and told to return the vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.
- A deputy was dispatched at about 11:20 p.m. April 14 regarding a report of trespassers at a Highway Y property at Mountain View.
The officer made contact with a 50-year-old man there who said he had observed two men in a field at his property and one of them had pointed a gun at him. He said the suspects ran away, and he didn’t know who they were.
