Monday was a good day for Houston High School track and field, as the girls team won and the boys took second at the Howell County Invitational in Mountain View.

On the way to topping the 10-team girls standings, the Lady Tigers turned in four winning performances and two runner-up finishes, while the Tiger boys had one win and four seconds as the runner-up in an 11-team field.

Both squads had several athletes produce personal records during the meet, including freshman Adyson Dailing, who set a school record in the girls 300-meter hurdles.

HHS GIRLS HIGHLIGHTS

•100-meter dash: Kayla Wagner 1st, 13.60; Summer Seago 5th, 14.21 (15 runners).

•200: Kayla Wagner 1st, 27.90 (15 runners).

•400: Morgan McKinney 3rd, 1:12.93 (12 runners).

•800-meter run: Kristen Ely 3rd, 2:44.81 (12 runners).

•1,600: Kristen Ely 1st, 6:11.41 (8 runners).

•3,200: Kristen Ely 2nd, 15:46.89 (3 runners).

•300 hurdles: Adyson Dailing 2nd, 50.53 – school record (6 runners).

•4X100 relay: Houston 2nd, 56.18 (5 teams).

•Long jump: Summer Seago 1st, 15-3.75 (8 jumpers).

•Triple jump: Kayla Wager 3rd, 29-11.5 (8 jumpers).

•Discus: Elysia Graciano 3rd, 68-02; Kynlee Weaver 5th, 64-4.50 (14 throwers).

•Javelin: Kynlee Weaver 3rd, 96-10.25; Morgan McKinney 4th, 96-04.25 (14 throwers).

•Shot put: Summer Seago 3rd, 27-11.75 (12 throwers).

Houston scored 152.5 points to win the meet, while Mountain Grove took second with 102.5 and Willow Springs placed third with 77.

HHS BOYS HIGHLIGHTS

•400-meter dash: DJ Riley 1st, 54.58 (17 runners).

•1,600-meter run: Jack Sawyer 4th, 5:12.65 (15 runners).

•3,200: Jack Sawyer 3rd, 12:01.35; Riley Talbott 4th, 12:03.41 (9 runners).

•110 hurdles: Jordan Arthur 2nd, 17.63 (3 runners).

•Discus: Devin Shelton 3rd, 108-11.75 (21 throwers).

•Javelin: Mason Dodson 2nd, 139-5.25 (18 throwers).

•Shot put: Maleki Morgan 2nd, 38-3.75; Layne Seago 3rd, 37-9.50 (23 throwers).

Host Liberty scored 185 points to top the boys team standings, while Houston was second with 120 and Willow Springs was third with 80.
