Lonnie Derryl Neugebauer, 77, of Rogersville, Mo., passed away Jan. 22, 2024. Lonnie was born March 28, 1947 to Daniel Alfred and Levita Alean (Lesley) Neugebauer in Chattanooga, Okla.

In 1964, the family left Oklahoma and moved to Cabool, Mo., where Lonnie graduated from Cabool High School in 1965. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1968, where he served as a tanker in the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, Lonnie was a farmer, contractor/construction worker, customer hay bailer and truck driver. He would often call himself a “jack of all trades, master of none,” with a chuckle.

Lonnie is survived by his first true love, his oldest daughter, Sharla Renee Neugebauer of Ozark, Mo. She was the apple of his eye, his sunshine on a cloudy day, the one who could be just as ornery as he was, while they laughed and joked together.

His daughter, Casi ShaRae Urquhart (Dietrich) of Killeen, Texas; grandchildren Lane Romine of Ozark and Lexie Romine and Drayden Urquhart of Killeen. His siblings, Alfred Neugebauer, Newcastle, Okla; Kaye Cockrum, Houston, Mo.; Sandra Allison, Springfield, Mo.; Jane Turner (Snuffy), Houston, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

Lonnie is preceded in death by his daughter Konni Rae Neugebauer, parents Dan and Levita Neugebauer and sister Hazel Wilson.

A Celebration of Life will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 9 at Souls Harbor Church in Houston.

  1. Lonnie was a wonderful uncle and his true love Trish loved him right back and took care of each other for 42 years!

  2. Sorry to hear of Lonnie’s passing. I always enjoyed talking to him, wherever we might run into each other.
I had a lot of fun working with him when I was a kid.
