Texas County advanced to the top 10 in the spring firearms turkey season underway, figures from the Missouri Department of Conservation show.
Texas County hunters had killed 199 turkeys going into Thursday, the fourth day of the spring firearms season, according to figures from the Missouri Department of Conservation.
In the county, 162 adult gobblers, 34 juvenile gobblers and three bearded hens were harvested.
Leading the state were: Franklin (305), Callaway (268) and St. Genevieve (240).
The season ends May 5.
