Texas County was listed as No. 7 in the state in the spring firearms turkey season underway, figures from the Missouri Department of Conservation show.

Texas County hunters had killed 338 turkeys going into Sunday, the seventh day of the spring firearms season, according to figures from the Missouri Department of Conservation.

In the county, 279 adult gobblers, 56 juvenile gobblers and three bearded hens were harvested.

Leading the state were: Franklin (458), Callaway (426) and Osage (383).

The season ends May 5.
