The theme for the Texas County Library’s Summer Reading Program for 2024 is “Reading Is a Passport to Countless Adventures.”

Books, presentations and activities will be centered around travel and information about other countries. The program will run from June 3 to 28. Registration information will be announced soon.

With our limited budget, monetary donations in any amount would be very much appreciated. These funds will purchase books, supplies and incentives to help all kids who participate. Donations of any amount may be mailed or dropped off at any library branch, or we are happy to come pick up your monetary donation. Just phone us at 417-967-2258.

Reading really is a passport to life’s adventures, and you can play a vital part!

The construction on our new main branch in Houston should start in the next few weeks and I look forward to keeping our patrons posted on the progress.

It is looking like the better weather is finally here.  The library is the perfect place to stop in and get books for sitting outside and reading while catching some vitamin D rays from the sun. Fishing poles and tackle boxes are available at all Texas County Library branches for check out. This service is courtesy of the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Also, at our Licking branch you can check out birdwatching backpacks, courtesy of the Rolla Ornithological Society in memory of Doc Hatch.
