A circuit judge this week set a jury trial date for a man from Licking accused of shooting at a family riding in a buggy in 2021.
Chadwin Wade, 48, is to appear Aug. 26-27 in Texas County Circuit Court on three counts of assault and armed criminal action, felonies. The case is being overseen by Circuit Judge John Beger. A pre-trial conference is July 16.
Upon arrival at the alleged crime scene, officers spoke with a man who said he was leaving his residence with his wife and children in a buggy. Authorities said the man told officers that a neighbor – later identified as Wade – fired a rifle at them.
No one was struck by the gunfire, authorities said.
