Playing on the road in the final South Central Association conference game of the season, the Houston High School baseball team was defeated 2-0 Tuesday at Thayer.

The host Bobcats got the only run they would ultimately need in the first inning and added another in the sixth.

The visiting Tigers had 7 hits in the game, all singles. Senior shortstop Stone Jackson had 3 singles in 3 at-bats, while four teammates each recorded 1.

Junior Shaun Buck went the distance on the mound for Houston, allowing 5 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 7 and walking 2.

Freshman Mason Thorton tossed a complete game for Thayer, striking out 11 and walking only 1.

The Tigers (10-7, 3-4 SCA) are scheduled to play Thursday at Ellington.
