The following are excerpts from reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:

Between April 29 and May 5, the Houston Police Department answered 172 calls for service and initiated 39 traffic stops resulting in eight citations and 45 warnings.

  • On April 29, a Houston resident reported someone had gone online and changed her direct deposit account information, stealing over $1,100 from her. Investigation is ongoing.
  • On April 29, officers responded to the 500 block of Oak Street for a peace disturbance. Upon arrival, the suspects had left the scene, officers are attempting to identify the suspects.
  • On April 30, officers responded to Walmart for several theft investigations. Following an investigation, Christa L. Halstead, 37, of Birch Tree; Jacob M. Doughty, 18, of Elk Creek; and McKenzie J. Bloomer, 20, of Willow Springs, were issued citations for Stealing Under $750. Doughty was issued three additional citations for Stealing Under $750 for previous thefts and Landon J. Helton, 18, of Wardell, was issued three citations for Stealing Under $750 for thefts. Lailonnie L. Blanks, 23, of Summersville, was also issued a citation for Stealing Under $750.
  • On May 2, officers responded to the 400 block of North Grand Avenue for a domestic disturbance. While investigating the disturbance, officers arrested a 39-year-old male and a 35-year-old female for possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. A report will be forwarded to the Texas County Prosecutor’s Office for formal charges.
