An area man faces a trio of felony charges after allegedly injuring a person with a screwdriver during an incident on Tuesday, April 30.

Robert E. Winstead, born in 1959, of 2895 Wagner Road in Willow Springs, is charged with second-degree domestic assault (a class D felony), third-degree domestic assault (a class E felony) and armed criminal action (an unclassified felony).

A Texas County Sheriff’s Department deputy responded to an unreported location regarding a report of a domestic disturbance involving Winstead and two other people of unreported gender.

The officer made contact with all three and was told Winstead had struck one victim in the arm and taken possession of a hammer. The deputy was then reportedly told that the third person took the hammer from Winstead, and he then took possession of a screwdriver.

The third person then tried to take the screwdriver from Winstead and during a struggle he reportedly caused multiple lacerations in the person’s arm.

Cash-only bond on the charges is set at $2,500.
