Texas County was the No. 3 county in the state in the spring firearms turkey season on Saturday morning, the Missouri Department of Conservation reported.
Texas County hunters had killed 721 turkeys by early Saturday, according to figures from the Missouri Department of Conservation.
In the county, 583 adult gobblers, 129 juvenile gobblers and nine bearded hens were harvested.
Leading the state are: Franklin (860) Callaway (759), Texas (721), Osage (711), Macon (699) and Miller (673).
In 2023, the spring firearms total in Texas County was 781.
The season ends Sunday.
