Texas County placed third place in the state in the spring firearms turkey season that ended Sunday, the Missouri Department of Conservation said.
Hunters bagged 780 birds, which was down one from last year.
In the county, 626 adult gobblers, 144 juvenile gobblers and 10 bearded hens were harvested.
Leading the state were: Franklin (940) Callaway (822), Texas (780), Macon (758), Osage (751) and Harrison (720).
In 2023, the spring firearms total in Texas County was 781.
With the youth spring season added in the totals, here are the top counties: Franklin (1,029), Callaway (896) and Texas (858).
