The Cabool Police Department handled calls and incidents during the past week, including two accidents.

The department reported 23 traffic stops resulting in 19 summons issued. Five warrant arrests were made.

At 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, Rose Chapman, of Cabool, was driving a 2018 Chrysler on Cedar Bluff Avenue and struck the receiver hitch of a 2004 GMC that was being backed out of a parking stall driven by Hunter Martin of Cabool. No injuries were reported.

At 2:51 p.m. Sunday, June 23, Roy Nute, of Cabool, was traveling west on U.S. 60 in a 1989 Chevrolet when the driver’s side rear wheel and tire came off the vehicle. The tire and wheel rolled across U.S. 60 and into the Landmark Villa parking lot, striking two unoccupied, parked vehicles, authorities said. Minor damage was reported.

In total, police handled two accidents, eight animal complaints, one assault, one civil matter, one juvenile matter, one mental instability incident, two stealing/theft incidents, two suspicious activity incidents, assisted other agencies twice and assisted the public four times.

The fire department was dispatched 15 times.
