An inmate at the South Central Correctional Center at Licking died early Monday morning, the Missouri Department of Corrections reported.
Donald Bateman, 78, was serving a life sentence for first-degree murder out of Moniteau County. The death occurred at 3:17 a.m.
Bateman had been in prison since March 16, 2015.
Officials said Bateman died of apparent natural causes.
