Charles Wayne Mings, “Chuck,” as he wanted to be called, was born Aug. 7, 1965, in Jackson County, Mo., to Terry Gene Mings Sr. and Lois Marlene Postlewait Mings. Chuck passed away on July 23, 2024, in Springfield, Mo., at the age of 58.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Debi of Mansfield, Mo.; five children, Matthew Mings (Cortnie) of Ava, Mo., Kristy Elliott (Logan) of Ava, Mo., Ronnie Mace (Heather) of Cuba, Mo., Brian Mace (Chastity) of Mansfield, Mo.; and Kayla Mosley (Cody) of Eunice, Mo.; sister, Brenda Michaud (Gary) of Springfield, Mo.; brother, Mike Mings of Houston, Mo.; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren on the way.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Terry and Lois Mings; sister, Velma Marlene Mings; brothers, Sammy Lane Mings and Terry G. Mings Jr.; niece, Christy Younger; nephew, Nathan Brammer; grandmother, Hazel Postlewait; and uncles, Virgil Postlewait, Larry Postlewait and Bob Postlewait.
Chuck graduated from high school in Houston, Mo., in 1983 and joined the Marine Corps. He loved to hunt, fish and he played a lot of ball. He loved his family very much. Chuck will be greatly missed by those that knew him.
A visitation for Chuck is 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2024, at Evans Funeral Home. Funeral services follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Bill Villapiano officiating. Pallbearers are Logan Elliott, Jacob Elliott, Cody Mosley, Matthew Mings, Ronnie Mace and Brian Mace. Interment follows at Dutch Chapel Cemetery.
