A Fort Leonard Wood soldier was pronounced deceased in an on-post residence at 12:15 a.m. Friday, July 12, by emergency services personnel.
According to Fort Leonard Wood law enforcement officials, the soldier was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound.
The identification of the deceased is being withheld until next-of-kin notification is made.
Circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation by Fort Leonard Wood law enforcement and the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division.
