Willow Springs and Cabool are planning Fourth of July activities.
The Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce announced in a press release that its annual parade is 10 a.m. July 4. Lineup occurs at 9 a.m. at Booster Field. The grand marshal is Jerry Gibbons of Willow Springs, who served in the 82nd Airborne Division. A patriotic program follows after the parade at the Star Theater.
Earlier, a SWAT Challenge and a 5K “I Ran from the Cops” event are set for 6 a.m. Entry forms are available online at wschamber.net or at the chamber office at 120 W. Main St. The events are at Palenske Field.
The Willow Springs Lions Club will hold a pancake breakfast at 6 a.m. at Palenske Field.
Swimming will be free at the municipal pool from noon to 7 p.m.
First General Baptist Church in Willow Springs at 2507 Railroad Drive will host a fireworks show at dark. Free hot dogs are available and food trucks will be on the grounds.

CABOOL EVENT
At Cabool, a Fourth of July Block Party is slated for 6 p.m. July 4 on Main Street.
The Cabool Chamber of Commerce said the event includes music, food trucks, fireworks and other surprises.
