School board makes personnel decisions in closed session

Members of the Houston board of education handled personnel matters during a special closed session Friday, July 26.

The board unanimously approved the following employments:

• Cindy Long, as paraprofessional, for the 2024-’25 school year, pending a background check. 
• Karen Nipper, as paraprofessional, for the 2024-’25 school year, pending a background check. 
• Jennifer (Rebecca) Clark, as high school business teacher, for the 2024-’25 school year, pending a background check. 

Board members present at the meeting were Dustin Hartman, Charlie Malam, Jeff Gettys and Jennifer Scheets. 

The meeting lasted 14 minutes.
